Zabaione
Hi, we have a great dessert sent into us by Rosa, her family originate from Italy, and she has sent in the wonderful recipe called Zabaione.
It can be served hot or cold, and would be great for a dinner party or family get together. Its a free recipe so why not try it.
Ingredients
six eggs 4 tsp of powered sugar
3 wine glassfuls of Marsala
1glass of Maraschino brandy
Now that we have the ingredients lets get making this fabulous dessert, .
First we need to get 2 saucepans, one smaller that the other. Now take the eggs and break into the smaller saucepan add the powered sugar and beat together, hard, for six minutes, pour a little water into the larger saucepan and place on a medium heat on the cooker, place the smaller saucepan with the sugar and eggs inside of the larger saucepan and whip the mixture until the contents become stiff enough so that a spoon can stand upright in the middle. (be careful not to burn)
While whipping add the three glassfuls of Marsala and the glass of Maraschino brandy whipping all the time. Once the mixture has been whipped together and is a thick consistency it is ready to serve.
Pour into tall glasses or cups and serve either hot or cold.
This is a simple and easy recipe, and we thank Rosa for sending it in for us to share.
