BREAKFAST CAKE

Auntie’s Breakfast cake, is just what it say’s. When we visited, she did this lovely cake for breakfast, and we always loved the taste of the hot cake with melt butter, and the smell from the kitchen when we woke up.

Ingredients

half a pound of flour

1oz of butter

pinch of salt

2 eggs

tablespoon of milk

Here is how to make your alternative breakfast.

To start put the flour, butter, salt, eggs, and milk into a bowl and mix together to make a paste, now place it in a warm place to rise, once it has risen cut into cakes (the size of small side plates or saucer), sprinkle with flour, and bake on a flat baking tin, ( I usually put grease proof paper on the tin so that they are easier to lift off when cooked) in a hot oven until brown, or if you wish they can be fried in a frying pan ( I use an oil spray just to keep them from sticking to the pan; once they are cooked they should be cut in half, and then buttered while hot, and served quickly.

My children loved these, I often served them with eggs.
