1 lb. of apples, (peeled, cored and chopped fine)
2 oz. of sugar,
1/4 oz. of butter (or vegetarian alternative)
Grated rind of one lemon

Well, lets get started on Grandma’s weird and wonderful recipe.

Be sure to soak the barley overnight all 1/2 lb.

Now that the barley as soaked overnight boil it for 3 hours in 3 pints of water.

When the barley is tender, pour in the sugar, lemon rind, and the apples.

Pour the mixture into a buttered dish, put the butter in bits over the top of the mixture, now place in a hot oven and bake in the for 1 hour.

This sure is different, but I am told by a family member that it taste great.

Hope you enjoy this recipe.
